How are campers selected?

Anyone with a physical and/or intellectual disability is welcome to apply. Many of our special needs campers are family members, friends and neighbors of current and retired Missouri National Guardsmen. On the other hand, many campers selected to attend a Camp Guardian session have no family members directly or indirectly affiliated with the MO National Guard. During the camper selection process, medical history and behavioral factors are carefully considered.  In addition, applicants from economically disadvantaged households, as well as first-time applicants are given special consideration.
